This month we say a bittersweet farewell, or maybe just a "see ya later" to our amazing kennel hand Elleke. If your cat has been in our cattery over the past few years, you would be sure to know of our behind the scenes superstar! Elleke has brought an extra spark to our team with her always positive and caring attitude; whether it be staying late or volunteering her time to make everyone else's life easier or bringing us in treats on her own birthday, Elleke has never failed to bring a smile to our faces. Having a keen interest in Veterinary Medicine, Elleke began volunteering in the cattery in December 2015 before becoming a permanent member of the team in February 2016.
Over this time Elleke has shown immense passion and commitment to the industry spending a huge majority of her spare time here observing and helping to gain experience and knowledge in the field, not to mention doing a fantastic job in our cattery all year round including Christmas and public holidays. When Elleke is not here it is not uncommon for her to be at home studying to ensure she gets the grades she needs to go to Vet school. Elleke has the most discipline and maturity we have ever seen of a young woman her age and we have no doubt she is going to do amazingly at Vet school. We would like to wish Elleke all the best in the coming five years of hard work and hope to see her back for her placements and hopefully to join the team once again down the track as a Veterinarian.
